About Discount Thermal Labels

About Us

The Beginning

Advertape Inc. opened for business by Grandpa Gene back in 1934. Four generations later the business is still family owned and operated on Long Island, New York. Our facility is a stones throw from the original backyard workshop. Over time the focus has changed from custom printed packaging tapes to custom labels. However, the commitment to quality products and personal customer service has remained.

In response to growing demand for thermal labels, DiscountThermalLabels.com was launched in 2009. Starting a new division during a recession is not ideal. However, just like in 1934 the family was up for the challenge. Originally there were only a few standard products, such as 4 x 6 Zebra compatible shipping labels and Dymo 30256 compatible labels. Then, the site quickly grew and now offers hundreds of items with thousands of variations for Zebra, Dymo, Brady, Brother, Sato, Cognitive, Rollo, Seiko, Primera, and Epson printers.

Many first-time customers question how we can sell our compatible labels and ribbons at a fraction of the price. How could our direct thermal, thermal transfer, or inkjet labels be so much less expensive than those overpriced brand name labels and ribbons? The answer is simple; our customers buy directly from us. Labels are cut, packaged, and shipped in our own facility. As a result, there are no additional markups between the producer and the end user.

Uncut direct thermal, thermal transfer, and inkjet label materials are bought from the biggest names in the industry. These include Mactac, 3M, Avery, Green Bay, and Technicote. Therefore, we can guarantee the quality of our products and stand behind them with a full refund or replacement policy. Please do not hesitate to request a free sample roll of labels to test in your thermal or inkjet printer.

The Future

Discount Thermal Labels will continue to offer products for Zebra, Dymo, Brother, Brady, Seiko, Primera, Epson, Cognitive, Datamax, and Sato. The product line will grow based on customer needs and changes in technology. As we look forward to meeting new clients, we will be sure to appreciate those that have been with us from the beginning. As we approach 100 years in business, the commitment to quality and superior customer service will only become stronger.
